Who We Are
Restaurant Inventory Tools is an independent review and resource site built for independent restaurant operators, multi-unit managers, and food service entrepreneurs who want to take control of their food costs and run a more profitable kitchen.
What We Cover
We research, test, and compare restaurant inventory management software — the tools that help operators track stock, reduce waste, calculate food cost percentages, and integrate with their POS systems. We also publish free guides on food cost control, prime cost, menu pricing, and alcohol inventory management.
Our Approach
Every review and comparison on this site is based on independent research. We look at real features, real pricing, and real operator use cases — not marketing copy. Where software companies offer affiliate commissions, we disclose that clearly on every page. Our editorial recommendations are never influenced by those relationships.
Who Writes Here
I’m Brian Clow. I’ve spent over 30 years in the restaurant industry — front of house, restaurant management, and the supplier and broker side of the business. That combination matters here: I’ve seen food cost problems from the operator’s chair and from the distributor’s side of the invoice, a perspective most software reviews don’t have.
I built Restaurant Inventory Tools because comparing platforms like MarketMan, MarginEdge, Restaurant365, and BlueCart shouldn’t require sitting through five sales demos just to get a straight answer on pricing and fit. Every guide and comparison here is based on publicly available pricing, product documentation, and verified operator reviews on G2 and Capterra — not vendor pitch decks.
Having worked the supplier and broker side, I understand the invoice problems, the pricing games, and the operational blind spots that inventory software is actually trying to solve — and where it falls short. That’s the lens behind every review on this site.
